![]() The Annual Empire Day parade was held on 24th May, 1939. The V.I. Cadet Corps, band and recruits, 250 strong, formed up in line on the Corps Parade ground and received the British Resident with a general salute at 8.45 a.m. After the inspection, the parade marched down to the Padang in columns of fours, saluting the Union Jack en route opposite the main entrance. On reaching the Padang the Corps formed the middle face of a hollow square with the band in the rear. The Headmaster read the Empire Day message and the British Resident gave a brief but inspiring address, afterwards presenting an Under-officer's Commission to C.S.M. Abduk Razak bin Abdul Rahman. The Officer Commander, V.I.C.C., then called for three cheers for His Majesty the King-Emperor, after which the parade marched back to the School and dismissed. |
