VI Prize Giving 1940

The Annual Prize Giving was held in the Hall on Thursday 18th April, 1940. The guests of honour included Their Highnesses the Sultan of Selangor and the Tengku Ampuan, and the British Resident, Major G. M. Kidd, and Mrs Kidd.

After the Headmaster, Captain E. H. Wilson had presented his report for the year, the School Captain, Rodney Lam, welcomed the gathering with a short speech. The Tengku Ampuan then presented prizes to the winners, including the Rodger Medal to Lim Sian Lok, the Treacher Scholarship to Yong Pung How, and the 1940 FMS Queen's Scholarship to Rodney Lam.

The guests were then entertained to a play, The Murder of Jerry Bundler, whose cast included S. Ratnam and R. Bhupalan. This was followed by a film, produced by Mr. L. I. Lewis, of school activities entitled Let's go to School, which was well received.
