OB vs Prefects Cricket - 1961

The School Cricket XI of 1930 challenged the V.I. prefects of 1960 to a friendly match on July 10, 1960. The Grand Old Man of the V.I., veteran teacher Mr R. Thampipillay, was also present to witness the match as was the prewar cricket master, Mr Goh Keng Kwee.

The Old Boys included 1930 School Captain, Dr Mohd. Din bin Ahmad, M. Y. Bahauddin, Mr E. Paveee, Mr C. Leembruggen and Mr S. Robert, the current V.I.O.B.A. Vice-President. The V.I. prefects were led by the current School Cricket Captain, Poon Yew Chin. They lost to their seniors of thirty years by 10 runs. Nevertheless a great time was had by all.
