Here we pull out a scanned picture from our collection or contributors that is related to either the V.I. past or present. If you have any interesting photo or picture about the V.I. or Victorians that you would like to share in this section, please do send the scanned image in GIF or JPEG format, together with a short write up on it to ooibk@pop.jaring.my.

A group of 40 Victorians and teachers toured India in December,
1964. They visited Madras, Bombay, Poona, Agra, New Delhi and
other places. They also paid their respects at the tomb of Mahatma
Ghandi.
To relieve the boredom on the outbound voyage from Port Swettenham to Madras aboard the State of Madras, the Victorians brought a bit of the V.I. to the shipboard company. They arranged a debate and a concert - the fashion show being the most successful. In the debate Mizanur Rahman, Janice Liao and Cheong Kim Sang proposed that "competition is more important than cooperation". The opposers were K.S. Narayanan, Vengadesan and Shakuntala. The judge was the Ship's Captain! There is no record as to who won the debate.
