The V.I. Picture of the Month - July 2002

Here we pull out a scanned picture from our collection or contributors that is related to either the V.I. past or present. It seemed like a normal recess on February 15th, 1982, until an anonymous caller warned that there was a bomb in the V.I. The boys and girls were told to evacuate to the field while an anxious Headmaster paced the grounds. A mathematics teacher was seen scrambling out of the staff room with his test papers (they never let up, these teachers). Two vehicles of the Bomb Squad rolled up and the school premises were searched for 45 minutes before they were declared safe. (Drat, back to that maths test again! Let's try that hoax again tomorrow, for that science test, shall we? This time, get the timing right…!)
