King's Cup 1976

VI shuttlers wrested the King's Cup from the MBS Penang by 4-1 in the BA Hall in Malacca on 8th March 1976. The school had defeated 6 schools earlier to qualify for the state level matches. The Victorians then eliminated Maktab Sultan Abu Bakar, Johor, 4-1, Melaka Commercial Institute, Melaka 3-2, S.M. Derma, Perlis, Maktab, Sultan Ismail, Kelantan before meeting the Penang MBS in the finals.

There, Kuah Huat Poh beat his opponent 15-4, 15-3. However, second singles Tee Seng Aik lost to his Malacca opponent but Form Two boy Razif Sidek playing third singles regained a point through winning 15-12, 15-9. Doubles pair Mohd HanifAbdul Ghani and Dzulkifli Au Haniff scored the winning point with 15-4 15-5 over their opponents. Kuah Huat Poh and Koay Hean Eng wrapped up the score sheet with 17-16, 15-4 wins.
