Mrs Kok See Leong, the Senior Social Sciences Teacher and a V.I. Old Girl as well, was given a rousing tribute on her retirement on April 24, 2000, in a special hour-long School assembly. Students and teachers recited poems and messages and even crooned a song for her. The students then lined both sides of the school's driveway and sang Auld Lang Syne as Mrs Kok was sent off in a procession led by the bagpipe and percussion band of the VICC. Mrs Kok first joined the VI as Miss Koh May Lin in 1964. Her husband, Kok See Leong, an Old Victorian, was a champion swimmer, a School Prefect, a Club 21 member and the Captain of Thamboosamy House. Their son, Adrian Kok Jee Wai, was also a Victorian from 1995 to 1999. |
