Here we pull out a scanned picture from our collection or contributors that is related to either the V.I. past or present. If you have any interesting photo or picture about the V.I. or Victorians that you would like to share in this section, please do send the scanned image in GIF or JPEG format, together with a short write up on it to ooibk@pop.jaring.my.

For the second year running, the school is host to an AFS student, Colin Dearing, from Australia. Colin joined in the V.I.
in March 1984 from an obscure little town called Woy Woy in New South Wales and joined Form 5 Arts. This year he is
in Upper Six Arts 1. He finds the V.I. interesting but very strict. Lessons were boring because they were conducted in Bahasa.
He explains, "Saya tak boleh cakap Bahasa Malaysia, sikit sikit sahajalah." His classmates affectionately call him
Bulu Jagung which his brown hair resembles.
But night life is different and much more interesting to Colin in whose home town the shops close at 5 p.m. He aspires to be a chef and has so far travelled the length and breadth of Malaysia. |
