The Sportsmen's Lunch
A special luncheon was held in the school hall on 11th September to honour the achievements of the school's outstanding sportsmen and sportswomen of 1970 and 1971. Mr Lee Kuan Yew, well-known Old Boy and an outstanding athlete in his school days, was present to award the various colours to the sportsmen and sportswomen. Koe Hung Tatt and Surjeet Singh were given special mention for the services to the school in 1970 while Yap Kian Fui and Raja Ahmad were given special awards for their contributions to the school in 1971.

A total of 35 pupils, including four girls, received their colours in their various sports.

The school cricketers and swimmers, in turn, gave special tokens of appreciation to the following masters - Messrs Tan Teck Leng, Anandakrishnan, Arthur Marsh and Daniel Chan. The ceremony then ended with the singing of the school song.
