The V.I. Image Gallery

Old VI - aerial view, mid-1990s

Block 1 - the first and the barely surviving block - of the old V.I. complex is in the middle of this aerial view looking northwards. Surrounded by trees, it sits facing High Street (now Jalan Tun H.S. Lee) and is just a stone's throw from the roundabout which construction in the early sixties saw the demolition of most of the other V.I. buildings.

North of Block 1 are the Traffic Headquarters sitting on what used to be the V.I. field. Next to it, with the blue roof, is the Klang bus station where the V.I. tennis courts used to be. To the east of this station is the facade of what used to be shop houses built in the late 19th century. Today's Plaza Warisan has now integrated the facade into its architecture.

The Klang River once twisted and turned through K.L. and surrounded the school on three sides, causing bad floods during the monsoons. After the V.I. moved out in 1929, the river was straightened and finally tamed.
